Well, We've been here for the better part of the week today, so i think our time here has been sufficient to write a relatively satisfying review. I'll give you guys a heads up, and say that we got a smoking room (of course) so the view was pretty terrible (interior, lower rate. Now, this means that we were looking down on the glass over the indoor pool, pictured above, and the lobby roof... No ocean in sight. But since I know that this is partially due to a few bad habits, I will not be taking it into consideration for this review.
First off, Everything that delivers in the area, delivers to your room. You have no idea how convenient it is to come from flying a kite, and jumping over waves in the surf during storm swells from the upcoming hurricane, to jump into a cold pool, swim around for about half an hour, then make a call and order food, then chill out in the hot tub with your girlfriend for a good 15 minutes, head up to your room, change, and open the door to retrieve said food, eat, rinse, repeat. This service, at a multi-star resort with its own (basic) water park, and just barely above average pricing all wraps into an amazing package. The authentic Chinese delivery from China Chef was amazing, but the Pizza from "Hungry Howie's" was CRAP. We ordered bread-sticks, a large pizza, and a calzone, and almost got three sides of GREASE poisoning for free. The concept of a flavored crust was a great idea, and the bread-sticks were phenomenal, but the pizza itself was bland, and drenched in salty grease, as was the calzone (Mini-Reviews, because for some reason I felt like it).
Next up, the beach is less than 200 feet (this is the farthest, depending on the tides) from the outdoor pool and lazy river, and the shells here, as well as the crowds are plentiful. Whether you're looking for good surf to play in, shells to grab, or an open space to fly your stunt kite, this place's waterfront has it.
And Finally, the room. Our room was about mid-range, no deluxe sweet, but we got a full bath, mini kitchenette, two twin beds (Fred was with us), plasma TV, decent Wi-Fi, plenty of light, and a full balcony. The rooms are kept clean, there are no bugs (I say this because it's impressive to avoid insects near water) the mini fridge kicks arse, as you can fit food for a couple of days, 30 canned drinks, and a few other frozen goodies, and a couple of snacks in there.
(The only reason for the value for price deduction is the distance from the main strip, as it took over an hour of walking to get there, leaving sore feet all around by the time we got back to the hotel five hours later)

I gather you are in South Myrtle Beach? and if this is true, you are approx. 6 to 8 mi. from Restaurant Row, which is where you will find every kind of Buffet possible for a tourist area..but they are awesome Fresh Seafood Buffet's that make the drive well worth your time..pricing, the last time I was there, was about the same as you would pay for a 'dinner' order at Red Lobster here at home...but the food was so much better. However, if you pay the price for the great food buffet, go in hungry or you will never get your money's worth before you leave.

So I am to understand that the waves from the hurricane have already arrived? You can be sure that this is a mere taste of what's to come, even if the storm doesn't touch the coast of S.C., the high winds and surf will..
Have you been to any of the kite shops yet? If not, you will love what you see..But, if you look closely at the design, you can come home and build anything you see there and save money. Gosh, can't you just imagine the profit margin they have on the kite's they sell!
